2003 Softail Standard 100th year anniversary

Used Harley-Davidson engines, transmissions and partsWe are building Harley-Davidson stock now. If you are rebuilding, restoring or upgrading, tell us the model year, the engine family and what you need, and we will source it rather than sell you something that nearly fits.Know your engine family before you buyHarley changed engine families often enough that model year alone will not tell you what bolts in. The families you are most likely to be working with:Evolution. The 1340cc big twin that ran through the late eighties and nineties, and the 883 and 1200 Sportster version that carried on far longer.Twin Cam. 88, 96, 103 and 110. Note the change from the early Twin Cam A to the balanced B, and the move to 6-speed Cruise Drive, both of which affect what will swap.Milwaukee-Eight. 107, 114 and 117, oil and water cooled variants. Later and tighter on parts availability.Revolution and Revolution Max. The liquid cooled V-Rod engine and the newer Pan America and Sportster S platform. Different animal entirely from the air cooled twins. What we will want from youThe VIN, which settles the model year and the family faster than anything else.Whether the bike is carburetted or fuel injected, because the loom and sensors change with it.Transmission type and whether it is 5-speed or 6-speed.Primary drive setup, which does not always carry across between families. One thing to check before you buy any used Harley engineOn a Harley the engine case carries a stamped number, and in several states that number is tied to the bike’s registration. Replacing an engine can mean paperwork at the DMV, and in some cases an inspection. Check what your state requires before you order, not after the old engine is out. We will give you the numbers on the unit up front so you can do that properly.Buying and freightA complete big twin is a freight item and travels on a pallet. Smaller parts ship by standard carrier. Local pickup from the warehouse in Grand Rapids is free and is the cheapest way to buy. See shipping and freight for how pricing works, and the warranty terms for what is covered.Haneda Autos is an independent used parts dealer.
