Vehicle Fitment
This engine is a direct long-block replacement for the following North American models:
Infiniti Q50 Sedan: 2014, 2015 (3.7L Models Only)
Infiniti Q60 Coupe/Convertible: 2014, 2015
Compatibility Note: This is the Longitudinal RWD configuration. If your Q50 or Q60 is equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD), you must transfer your original USDM oil pan and pickup assembly to accommodate the front-drive axle pass-through.
JDM to USDM Installation & Swap Guide
To ensure 100% compatibility and maintain your Infiniti’s advanced electronics, professional technicians recommend the following “External Swap” steps:
Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: You must transfer your original USDM Intake Plenum and Exhaust Manifolds. JDM versions may have different vacuum port layouts and often lack specific emissions bungs required for North American OBDII compliance.
Wiring Harness: Always retain and use your original USDM Engine Wiring Harness. JDM harnesses are configured for right-hand drive and will not interface with your Infiniti’s chassis bulkheads or fuse box.
Engine Sensors: Transfer your original USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft Sensors. Infiniti electronics are highly sensitive; using your original “known-good” sensors prevents intermittent signal issues or Check Engine Light codes.
Oil Pan (AWD Models): If your vehicle is AWD, you must swap the USDM AWD Oil Pan and Pickup Tube onto the JDM block. JDM donor engines from RWD vehicles will not clear the front axle assembly.
Pilot Bushing / Flexplate: Transfer your original USDM Flexplate to ensure perfect alignment with your 7-speed automatic transmission and correct crank sensor signaling.
VVEL Modules: Keep your original VVEL control modules to ensure perfect synchronization with your factory ECU mapping.
What is included
You receive exactly what is pictured. Engines are supplied as a long block assembly with the components visible in the photos. Accessories such as the alternator, starter, intake manifold or sensors are included only where you can see them on the unit, so check the photographs before ordering and ask us if anything is unclear.
Before you order
- Confirm the engine code against your own vehicle, not just the model year.
- Japanese market units can differ from the US version in intake, loom and sensors.
- Replace the timing components, water pump and seals while the unit is out. It is cheap insurance on an engine this age.
- Keep your original accessories until the swap is finished and running.
