About this unit

Vehicle Specifications

  • Engine Code: G4NC

  • Displacement: 2.0 Liters (1,999 cc)

  • Cylinders: Inline 4-Cylinder

  • Valvetrain: DOHC 16-Valve with Dual CVVT

  • Fuel Injection: Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) Non-Turbo

  • Horsepower: Approx. 165 hp @ 6,200 RPM

  • Torque: Approx. 151 lb-ft @ 4,000 RPM

Vehicle Fitment

This long block configuration is tailored as a direct drop-in replacement for the following North American models:

  • Hyundai Elantra (Sedan): 2014, 2015, 2016 (Sport trim, or models with the 2.0L engine upgrade)

  • Hyundai Elantra (Coupe): 2014

  • Hyundai Elantra GT (Hatchback): 2014, 2015, 2016

  • Important Fitment Note: The Elantra also used a smaller 1.8L (Nu MPI) engine during these years. Please verify that your vehicle’s engine code is the 2.0L GDI G4NC before completing your purchase.

Long Block Installation Notes

  1. Re-use Your Factory External Accessories: You MUST swap over your original vehicle intake manifold, exhaust manifold, alternator, power steering brackets, starter motor, and air conditioning compressor.

  2. Transfer Electronics & Sensors: Always replace JDM or generic sensors with your vehicle’s original USDM sensors. Transfer your exact original factory engine wiring harness, Crankshaft Position Sensor, and Camshaft sensors to guarantee proper communication with your factory ECU plug layout.

  3. Handle GDI Components Safely: Carefully clean and swap your original high-pressure mechanical fuel pump and fuel injectors. Ensure no dirt or debris enters the fuel lines during assembly to avoid fuel system blockages.

  4. Mandatory Maintenance Updates: While the engine block is fully accessible on a stand, change out the Water Pump, Thermostat, Spark Plugs, Front Crank Seal, and Rear Main Seal to ensure long-term, leak-free driving.

  5. Fluid Protocols: Refill with premium 5W-20 or 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil and a fresh OEM filter. Ensure the radiator cooling system is fully purged of air pockets to prevent heat spikes during the initial engine break-in.

What is included

You receive exactly what is pictured. Engines are supplied as a long block assembly with the components visible in the photos. Accessories such as the alternator, starter, intake manifold or sensors are included only where you can see them on the unit, so check the photographs before ordering and ask us if anything is unclear.

Before you order

  • Confirm the engine code against your own vehicle, not just the model year.
  • Japanese market units can differ from the US version in intake, loom and sensors.
  • Replace the timing components, water pump and seals while the unit is out. It is cheap insurance on an engine this age.
  • Keep your original accessories until the swap is finished and running.
