  • Interchange Note: While this G4NC block matches certain model years of the Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, and Kia Sportage, accessory brackets, sensors, and oil pans may vary. This specific unit is optimized for the Tucson layout.

Long Block Installation Notes

  1. Transfer Factory Accessories: You MUST reuse your vehicle’s original intake manifold, exhaust manifold, alternator, power steering components, starter, and A/C compressor.

  2. Swap Your Wiring & Sensors: Always transfer your factory engine wiring harness and original sensors (specifically the Crankshaft and Camshaft Position sensors) over to the replacement block to ensure exact plug configurations match your factory ECU.

  3. Clean High-Pressure Fuel System: Ensure the high-pressure GDI fuel pump and injectors are cleaned or transferred correctly. Dirt in a GDI system can lead to immediate misfires.

  4. Mandatory Maintenance Upgrades: While the engine is pulled, we strongly recommend replacing the Water Pump, Thermostat, Spark Plugs, Front Crank Seal, and Rear Main Seal to ensure leak-free performance.

  5. Fluid Requirements: Use only factory-specified 5W-20 or 5W-30 motor oil alongside a fresh OEM filter. Ensure the cooling system is fully bled of air pockets during initial startup to prevent localized hot spots.

Before you order

  • Confirm the engine code against your own vehicle, not just the model year.
  • Japanese market units can differ from the US version in intake, loom and sensors.
  • Replace the timing components, water pump and seals while the unit is out. It is cheap insurance on an engine this age.
  • Keep your original accessories until the swap is finished and running.
